Some things happen so slowly you don’t notice them.
Apparently, a frog won’t notice it’s being boiled if you put it in cold water and slowly increase the heat.
If you do boil frogs, then no thank you, please unsubscribe. Unless there’s some greater good to it I don’t understand. In which case, feel free to start a newsletter that explains it, and send me a link.
The point we have to get to soonish is that you don’t notice your agency changing because you are always watching it.
And that means you don’t realise what you’ve become.
You might have become something you didn’t want to be.
Doing the wrong work, running the wrong business.
More likely you have achieved more than you think and are running a better business than you realise.
You’ve got a feeling you aren’t a proper agency yet. But that’s because you are staring too hard.
Consider the people who haven’t been watching so closely. People that have only just found out about you.
Your latest client or latest hire.
Important people.
They think you are “proper”, that’s why they’re here.
If you undersell yourself in front of them then you risk missing an opportunity.
You have to act like a more established agency than you think you are.
Because you are a more established agency than you think you are.
